Soft Glow of Nostalgia

Some moments aren’t just lived, they’re felt long after they have passed. The sound of waves lapping against the docks, the golden shimmer of the sun on the sea, the laughter of friends blending with the hum of cicadas.

That’s what these photos hold.

Kalamata in the summer is more than just a place, it’s a feeling. The quiet beauty of the port, where boats sway lazily on the water, and the carefree joy of a beach day with friends, salty skin and sand between our toes.

Film photography somehow captures all of it, the warmth, the imperfections, the passing of time frozen in a single frame.

Shot on my Olympus Superzoom 80g, these photos aren’t just images. They are echoes of a summer that still lingers, like the scent of sunscreen  on sun-kissed skin or the last light dipping below the horizon. Some memories fade, but on film, they live forever.

Beyond the Blue

Greece is often framed in shades of blue sunlit seas, island domes, and perfect coastlines. But there’s another Greece, hidden beyond the beaches and ferry routes, one where time moves slower and the air is thick with the scent of pine and burning firewood and traditions that have stood the test of time.  What a lot of people don't realise is that 80% of greek land is actually mountainous!  Shot on Olympus superzoom 80g with ISO 200, these pictures capture the untames beauty of Peloponnese, where tiny villages cling to hillsides, mountain goats appear on your path, and life moves at its own unhurried pace.  These villages tell stories in their own way. A weathered wooden door with peeling paint, an old man sipping coffee at the village square, the sound of distant goat bells breaking the silence. In a world moving at digital speed, these places remind me that slowness has its own kind of beauty. These images are a tribute to a Greece that often goes unnoticed. A Greece of...

Ancient Stones and Analog Tones

The Acropolis has stood for centuries, weathering time, wars, and the occasional bird invasion, so what better way to capture it than in a way that also defies time? Shot on Olympus superzoom 80g wearing some kodak ultramax 400 film, this image carries a little dust, a little grain, and a whole lot of Athens. Because something like the Acropolis and film photography, never go out of style . But what was its purpose? The Acropolis served as a religious and political center,  dedicated to Athena, the patron goddess and protectress  of Athens. According to the legend, Athena gifted the first olive tree to Athens on the Acropolis. Even today, an olive tree stands near the Erechtheion, symbolizing peace and prosperity. Now that we have down the soul of Athens, how about learning some more about The Soul of Lisbon ?

The Soul of Lisbon

The Soul of Lisbon: A City of Saudade Saudade: The Feeling That Lingers Lisbon is not just its golden light or the rhythm of the trams rattling up steep hills. It is its people—the quiet poets, the storytellers, the ones who carry the weight of history in their voices and their laughter. There is a word, saudade , that exists only in Portuguese. It is longing, but deeper. It is nostalgia, but not just for the past. It is the ache of something lost, or perhaps something never fully had. You feel it in the way an old man sips his coffee alone at a corner café, in the way a woman hums to herself while hanging fresh laundry on a wrought-iron balcony. Fado: The Sound of Longing You hear saudade most clearly in Fado . In a dimly lit tavern in Alfama, a singer stands, eyes closed, pouring heartbreak into every note. The guitar weeps beside them, each chord unraveling stories of love, of longing, of Lisbon itself. The audience listens in silence, understanding without words. Recently, Fado f...
